My heart fills with pride and pleasure as I write this message for our School Magazine. The academic year 2014-2015 has just closed and we have been successful in our endeavour to make the academic life, a smooth journey full of joy and discovery at Girl’s High School and College, and we pledge to continue this journey on the road to excellence as we develop all aspects of the personhood of each and every student with excellence according to God’s highest purpose for their “hearts, souls, &minds.”

At GHS, we value each student as an individual and as part of a family and we are committed to providing them with an educational experience that will develop every aspect of their being to their fullest potential. We believe that God has called us to address the whole person of each of our student, through a program of strong academics, varied extracurricular options, and intentional spiritual nurturing. As a school, we are not just a destination point, but a part of each student’s journey of faith and career preparation.

We are unique because-

  1. Although our school campus is small as compared to many other “Big School” yet we have all the school facilities. We enjoy the intimacy of being a small campus, and consequently, we are able to nurture strong bond between our students and faculty. However, we are able to provide academic and other resources that are truly of a “big school.”
  2. We exist in a place that is yet to develop into a smart city, yet we nurture a global vision. We have decided to keep our vision acute and enlarged. We focus on a safe living environment, we endeavour to raise our students’ awareness about their place on the planet and the Lord’s call on their lives to reach beyond their borders and change the world, one moment at a time. Although we are a private minority school yet we enjoy strong support of the city community and the district authorities. We value the remarkable opportunity to nurture our students by building into their academic development in all aspects of our school life. We benefit from scholastic accountability, professional development, and a spirit of healthy competition in academics and other extra-curricular activities handed over to us as a dream by the founding parents of this great institution.
  3. We are a Senior Secondary School with a representation in the best Organizations and Departments through our illustrious alumni.
  4. We are a hometown institution with a Boarding House: At GHS, one can enjoy the benefits of reasonable class size, caring teacher, and quality programs. We have been blessed with a strong heritage of faithful investment since 153 years. With a commercialization of Education, when almost all schools have closed down the boarding facilities and used up the space for finance generating economic activities, it’s still true for GHS that if you live far away, we have a place for you. We provide an educational home for local students and a home away from home for our borders.

When students come to GHS, they benefit from the spiritual, academic, and extracurricular activities. They’re also blessed by the rich opportunities to enjoy the best of many taught subjects. It is our deepest hope and prayer that this unique school will become a place where each one of us associated with it shall experience God’s abundant blessing for manifold success in the year to come.

I take this occasion to congratulate the staff, students and parents for their strong of commitment, service and responsibility that has transformed this institution into an outstanding and significant temple of learning.

May God Bless You,

Rev. Dr. Vinita Eusebius
